I was sick of my neighbour’s vines hanging over my fence so I took drastic action – some say I’m wrong but I don’t care

A GARDENER has divided opinion after he hacked down his neighbours vines when they began creeping over his wall.

The Russian variety of the plant had overgrown into Luke’s, of Just Gardens, private plot but the neighbours had asked him not to touch the plant regardless.

Luke decided to get rid of the vines overhanging from his neighbour's garden

However, in spite of their warning Luke shared a TikTok video of him cutting down the end using a hedge trimmer.

Captioning his video the gardener  wrote: “Neighbours over the fence shouted “don’t touch our vines”.

“I thought, as if they’d even know. It’s a jungle!”

According to the Royal Horticultural Society it is permissible to cut down overhanging branches provided it is done without trespassing onto the other person’s property.

It is also permissible to climb into the tree to undertake the work, again so long as it does not require going into the neighbour’s garden/land.

And it seems that viewers of the video were quick to agree that Luke was well within his rights.

Commenting, one wrote: “If it’s on my side bye bye I’d have done the same.”

“What’s on their side of the fence stays on their side and what’s on yours, well..can come off 😎” agreed another.

Meanwhile a third added: “Russian vine very invasive! 🥺”

However, others thought that he should have kept the vine as it was.

“It’s so much prettier hanging over,” they wrote.

“why even bother though, it looks cool overhanging,” added another.

Others argued that he should have left them be

My petty neighbour trims any leaf that TOUCHES his garden so I built a fence to shut him up… but he’s still not happy

A FUMING man who lives next to a petty neighbour built a privacy fence to keep him away – but it backfired.

This homeowner slammed the annoying guy next-door for trimming any leaf that even touches his garden.

To diffuse some of the tension, content creator @thecrabbyinnkeeper, revealed he built his own fence.

But the Bed & Breakfast host took to TikTok to dish out some neighbourhood drama.

In a video he said: “You would think that the neighbours would love this, but one guy ran over yesterday saying ‘I thought you were more reasonable than this’.

“More reasonable? This guy trims every leaf that goes over the property line, you’d think he would be jumping for joy.”

He added a jibe about the neighbour: “He’s nuts.”

Baffled TikTok users flooded the comment section with messages of confusion over why the inconsiderate neighbour was objecting.

“He enjoyed thinking he was irritating me by trimming any leaf that grew over his line, but I couldn’t care less, the fence takes the fun away,” replied the Inn Keeper.

Others were impressed at the homeowner’s craftsmanship and encouraged him to keep building the privacy fence.

This comes after a furious man waged war with his neighbours after their huge trees made life a misery – and he won his battle.

Meanwhile, a mum-of-four has slammed her nightmare neighbours for calling the cops on her kids for playing outside.

Meanwhile, another fuming local has slammed the people next-door for ramming into her fence – leaving it dented and sloping.

The scathing homeowner called out the inconsiderate people next door – who didn’t even inform her about

My neighbour put up a fence to keep my cat out of his garden – but I had the last laugh when I looked out of my window

A WOMAN and her cat had the last laugh after their neighbour put up a fence to stop the furry feline from wandering into his garden.

In a video uploaded to TikTok, a cat owner tiktok.com/@chelssk_/video/7093598796323556614″ aria-label=”filmed her pet (opens in a new tab)”filmed her pet enjoying some peace and quiet outside her home.

Neighbours can often become a nuisance and that’s exactly what has happened in this scenario for the woman behind the camera.

From inside her home, the TikTok user (@chelssk_) showed the situation going on outside and attached a caption to the 11 second clip.

It read: “My neighbour hates my cat and put a fence up to keep him out.

“Then I look out my window to see him like this LOL.”

This specific neighbour has, indeed, gone all out to ensure the cat cannot get into their garden.

A fresh looking fence can be clearly seen surrounding the perimeter of this garden.

Although, with a cat’s impressive ability to jump and climb, it begs the question as to why this neighbour thought it would do anything to help the situation.

Regardless, the video begins by showing the fence that the neighbour has put up in their garden.

But as it continues, the camera pans round to find a certain cat sitting peacefully on a chair within the property.

Enjoying the peace and quiet as it did so before, the cat sits peacefully and undisturbed, with a hint of smugness about it.

And it can hardly be blamed for looking proud of itself, having not been defeated.

It’s owner is equally as proud, knowing that the two of

We’re building tiny homes on our property for our adult kids to live in – it’s the economy, they have their own sheds

Raelene Cleveland (tiktok.com/@raeraebrows”>@raeraebrows) jump started her kids’ independent lifestyles by building them their own homes.

But rather than have them move off too far away, she put them right in her backyard.

“Who else is building housing for their adult kids to live in, due to the economy?” she wrote in the clip.

Behind the screened-in pool next to the main house were two adorable tiny houses.

Although made out of sheds, they were complete with front doors, windows, portable AC units, outdoor lighting, front porch steps, and decorative plants.

One of the sheds even had a shade sail outside – ideal for sunny days.

“It’s a start. I’ve added two new living spaces without having to add onto my house,” she wrote in the caption, noting that the whole family loves the sheds.

Her ingenuity and crafty skills garnered praise from others.

“This is a great compromise. Everyone has their own space! I’m happy to see parents that understand how hard things are right now,” one wrote, echoing Raelene’s take on the economy.

My two-ingredient natural gardening remedy will stop your plants from getting attacked by bugs – it’ll also clean mildew

In his tiktok.com/@dr_eriola/video/7257411714822589701″video, TikTok user Dr Eriola (@dr_eriola) explained: “If your plants keep getting attacked by small insects and bugs then here is a natural remedy you can try that may help.

“Growing and looking after your plants is such a fun and rewarding activity but often they are invaded and damaged by loads of small bugs,” the TikToker said.

“You can help to prevent this by peeling a whole head of garlic and adding them to a blender with a little bit of water and a minute drop of organic dish soap,” he told viewers.

The doctor demonstrated to his audience how to create the homemade mixture.

He said: “Blend this until most of the large chunks have gone, transfer to a large jar, and then dilute water a little bit more water.”

Eriola recommended leaving the solution to sit for at least 12 hours.

He explained: “The garlic infuses the water with powerful sulfur compounds.”

For the next step, Eriola showed viewers how to strain the mixture through a cloth to remove any remaining chunks.

He pointed out an additional benefit to the homemade pest repellant.

“Add this to a clear spray bottle and spray both sides of your leaf once a week to help deter small pests and clean up powdery mildew,” he said.

One gardening expert revealed the ingredient he added to his rain barrel to repel mosquitoes.

He demonstrated by showing how a brush distributed the paint, before doing the same thing with a sponge.

And it was the latter that meant he could finish the job much faster than if he’d been using a brush.

“Fence painters out there – use a sponge NOT a brush! You can thank me later,” he captioned the tiktok.com/@reno_at_95/video/7252967659724098843″ aria-label=”video (opens in a new tab)”video on his TikTok page.

“Thank you so much,” a third said.

While someone else admitted: “Literally spent 2 hours painting a fence yesterday. Wish I’d seen this.”

“Gonna try this on the cabin,” another said.

“I use a decorators sponge – 17m fence painted in less than 1 hour both sides,” someone else boasted.

But others insisted the man was missing a trick by not using a sprayer to paint his fence.

“Sponge is a half decent way, better than a brush, but a spray gun wins all day long,” one wrote.

“I did a 35ft fence in less than 2 hours, with 2 coats.”

“Just spray it, 10 times quicker,” another added.
